Nelsons Cafe Bar Restaurant situated at 231 Nelson Place Williamstown is based on a very simple concept to offer our customers a fabulous dining experience with great food and exceptional service in tasteful surroundings.

Nelsons is situated within a magnificent heritage listed building over looking Port Phillip Bay. It was originally built by the former president of a Port of Medical officer, for Colonial Surgeon, Dr John Wilkins. A surgery for over a century, John Price Inspector General of Penal Establishments died here in 1857 after being attacked by prisoners on Point Gellibrand (Formally Sails Restaurant) before undergoing its major renovations and now operating as Nelsons Café Bar Restaurant.

 

Nelsons exudes warmth from its 3 open fireplaces, walls finished in silver marble render with hints of purple colour throughout. You can enjoy a relaxing pre dinner drink or cocktail in front of the open fire on our ottomans piled with comfy pillow. Or dine for Breakfast (weekends only), Lunch or Dinner in our dining room with roaring fires, and contemporary design with a touch of elegance.

 

Nelsons sets new standards with our relaxing cosmopolitan atmosphere, high quality, light, seasonal, fresh and innovative modern Australian cuisine. Nominated for a glass for Tucker Seabrook Australian wine list of the year our extensive Australian wine list boasts more than 60 boutique wines. For more intimate dining Nelsons has a private dining room catering for up to 10 people.

 

Our function room upstairs with gold marble render finish stands in a class of its own with balconies overlooking the most magnificent views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip bay. We cater for 80 people at a sit down function or 120 from our extensive finger food menu. We cater for weddings, birthday parties, business meetings, engagement parties, christenings, whatever the occasion you know it will be one to remember. We can even supply white boards, projectors, entertainment etc, all at very reasonable rates.

Open 6 days a week from 9am till late Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 11pm Sunday.
